Classic french house design with a modern twist

As you can see in these images this design still resembles a classic french house but the designer chose to utilise it to still make a modern usable and efficient house .It still resembles a classic house as it has all the decorative object in every corner ,very occupied and a little over whelming but at the same time can be balanced .It is very colourful and you never stop finding new things to look at.nterior is mostly black and white, which gives it a modern fresh look with classical woodpanelingThis falls under the theme movement as everything is very detailed and every design has such allot of movement in it .

Interior design of the Titanic
Victorian style design

The Victorian interior design dates between 1837-1901, the reign in Britain of Queen Victoria, hence the given name. The industrial revolution had a dramatic impact on interior design in the Victorian Age,  the chance to change the decoration and ornamentation of their homes.  In the homes, the owners crammed in as many pieces of furniture, fabrics as possible, due  to showcase new cultural interests,  status, as well as the fashionable taste.

The video above you can see the actual real design of the interior of the titanic. The design of the titanic was based on a Victorian stile interior which is very decorative and intercity. It is very grand and breath taking .It is very fancy and you feel a little intimidated by the room as you go in .It has a beautiful design ,its lavish interior is truly out of this world it is a truly breath taking site to surely be seen .

Every corner of this floating place was decorated with such great detail.Especially the Grand staircase ,  from the oak wood finishing to the top when you look up and see the crystal sky light in it self alone is so beautiful and has such great vastness. as you see down here .

A painting by John William Water house The soul of the rose

This painting is one of the most well known ones made by John William Waterhouse ,it has great use of colour and great detail in it .the artist uses a warm pallet to bring out the great detail in the womens face .In this particular painting he chooses  a side view to paint her.He uses free brush strokes and rough ones but still keeps them to a minimum to bring out all the detail .He also uses  cool colours for great contrast.'He gives great detail to the figure and the rose, but then on the back doesn't give it much importance'.

This falls under the theme of movment because of the fabric and the rose

Others like this are :

As you can see in an other piece by Waterhouse the amazing use of colour and intricate details is phenomenal. They all have the feel that there is movment but still have a certiane stilleness .It some how seems like time has frozen and a piece of it was taken .Yet the more you look at it the more you see what the artist was seening and you can understant what he saw when he was painting it .Although it feels like a moment from time you can still see the motions and movments in the pieces for example in the piece above when you look at it ,it seems that there are jiest a few figures and nice palat but the deeper you look the moree you see for example how the wind is making the leaves move and kind of dancing and going with the wind .You see the figures move and even how there clothese lay the symbolise movment. There is even some drapery in the back or maybe a curtian that is beenig blown back by the wind.

In this painting there also is movment in the lake ,how the leaves lay and almost sway ,the motion of the boat and even how the lantern seems just about to fall .Now although we have all this there is still a strong sens of stillness ,peace almost and serenity ,because of how the artist paints the figure almost as if she is taking in all her surrontings .This piece for me simbolises that moment when you get away from all the hussle and bussl and take that deep breath of releaf and her surronding will help her think .That is were I get that symbolic sens of stilness .

American Impressionism.

Girl combing her hair a piece by William McGregor Paxton American painter

born 1869- died 1941 painted in 1909.

In this piece by William mcgregor Paxton ,we see American impressionism .American Impressionism was a style of painting related to European Impressionism and practised by American artists in the United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. American Impressionism is a style of painting characterised by loose brushwork and vivid colours.

As you can see in the image above ,it is a very lovely painting and it has great detail .The lighting is very good in this painting , the colour are very neutral but still hit some  high points  .There is a sense of movement in the painting but still is very still. This painting falls under the theme movement because as she is combing her hair and as the lights are hitting her face .There is movement in the fabric of the clothing ,and as her hair is falling onto her shoulders .

More examples of American impressionism are pieces like:

A piece by kevin Beilfuss.
As you can see there is great use of colour and beautiful details int the face ,which can be confusing as in some areas it looks clean and in others it looks very rough. This painting is very eye catching and too me it is very amusing

This is an other piece by Kevin Beilfuss, again there is great use of vibrant colour and although there are rough brush strokes the image is still shown very clearly .This painting is a more modern take on American impressionism.

Film

Film movement :
Dirty Dancing
In 1963, "Baby" Houseman  who is played by Jennifer Grey is as a 17-year-old spending the summer with her family at a resort hotel in the Catskills; she plans on being in the Peace Corps next summer, so this is expected to be her last summer as a carefree adolescent.  However, one night Baby hears what sounds like a party going on in the employee's dormitory, Baby is really liking a handsome young man ,Johnny Castle who is played by Patrick Swayze, a dancer in the resorts floor show, and falls head over heels in love, wanting to be near him.

When Johnny's dance partner, Penny Cynthia Rhodes, finds herself pregnant ,Baby volunteers to learn her steps and take her place  however, Baby's father, Dr. Jake Houseman who is  Jerry Orbach, will have none of it, convinced that Johnny is a low life and that his daughter is too young to understand her own feelings. But in the end they still do the last show and surprise everyone with the finally everyone gets up and has fun,and her father finally except their love and excepts that baby is growing up.

It is a great movie because it has romance ,heart break it is very fun and up beat most of the time especially in the dance numbers ,and above all it is a memorable film  .This film falls under the theme movement because it is of course always moving especially in the dance numbers and even because of some of the costumes like the one baby had in the last scene .

In the opening part the film the director uses medium close ups to show the intimacy of the dancers. The camera focuses on the characters by using extreme close-ups so the audience can see their facial expressions. The camera movement is very steady. The music is very good and so is the sound .They used great music to show the intense bits and also what for me represents the free spirited parts of the movie
The costume design, hair and make up are all  represent the period that the film is set in, which is the 1960’s.

FILM

                                         Film ,movement:
                                         3 men and a baby

"Three Men and a Baby is an American remake of the 1985 French comedy  Three Men and a Cradle. It begins with alot of characters and it spends a lot of time describing the lifestyles of three bachelors Tom sellek , steve Guttinberg and Ted Danston  who share a luxury apartment and have a never ending line of girlfriends. And then it's the morning after Selleck's big birthday party and on the doorstep outside their apartment is a basinette with a little baby named Mary. From that point on, the movie finds its rhythm, and it works.
The baby  father was Danson, an actor who has just left to shoot a film in Turkey. Selleck and Guttenberg are left with the baby.
Shortly after comes one of the funiest scenes , as Selleck and Guttenberg, an architect and a cartoonist, try to change Mary's diapers.  The way they act  it is  so funny.
At first they're confused  by this little baby that only eats, sleeps, cries and  ...,and sellek says "The book says to feed the baby every two hours," says Selleck, "but do you count from when you start, or when you finish? It takes me two hours to get her to eat, and by the time she's done it's time to start again, so that I'm feeding her all of the time."Those scenes are the heart of the movie.

At the end, when Marys mother turns up, the men allow her to leave with the baby without even asking the obvious question  of how could she have abandoned the baby .But soon follow her and ask her to live with them.I love this movie because it's funny but still heart warming and it is a good movie to watch.

This movie falls under the theme movement because it never stops. The critical analysis is that the camera is steady ,there are a few close ups at moments and mostly long shots. So as far as sound and picture goes it is not so bad considering how old the film actually is .As you can  see I like the plot could have been done better in certain places but over all I like it .Lighting ,it is most of the time really light as its a comedy and doesn't have very intense scenes, except for the parts when they go after the baby because of the misunderstanding, and the part when they go to the airport for the mother.Lighting as well as sound change at that moment to get your Adrenalin pumping and make you think about will they get to them in time .All the music during the film is mostly up beat. The props the use are great costumes well i guess there not costume just that ages fashion, are good. The actors they chose to play the leads were great for this part I cant imagine any one else who can play the part like they did as they made the film come alive and be believable or at least believable to me .

                                                           Film homework :  Pitch Perfect

Pitch  perfect is a comedy with some heigh and low points .Most shots were taken in long shots or medium and rarely in close ups.The only few shots in close up were to express the feeling and emotion  at that point.for example when they were going through a rough patch through a relationship. Some were taken as if you were moving with them as you were part of them .This makes you see what they are seeing. The lighting shows you what kind of film it is ,that it is a comedy because there isnt dark lighting most of the time so it shows that at some point there is sadness but then the lighting changes an the fun characters come to life once again. The music is very up beet and makes you want to get up and dance .Its mix of actual music while they sing and the background music go very well together .The music is showing what the characters are going through ,the dilemmas in their life .
