Film

Film movement :
Dirty Dancing
In 1963, "Baby" Houseman  who is played by Jennifer Grey is as a 17-year-old spending the summer with her family at a resort hotel in the Catskills; she plans on being in the Peace Corps next summer, so this is expected to be her last summer as a carefree adolescent.  However, one night Baby hears what sounds like a party going on in the employee's dormitory, Baby is really liking a handsome young man ,Johnny Castle who is played by Patrick Swayze, a dancer in the resorts floor show, and falls head over heels in love, wanting to be near him.

When Johnny's dance partner, Penny Cynthia Rhodes, finds herself pregnant ,Baby volunteers to learn her steps and take her place  however, Baby's father, Dr. Jake Houseman who is  Jerry Orbach, will have none of it, convinced that Johnny is a low life and that his daughter is too young to understand her own feelings. But in the end they still do the last show and surprise everyone with the finally everyone gets up and has fun,and her father finally except their love and excepts that baby is growing up.

It is a great movie because it has romance ,heart break it is very fun and up beat most of the time especially in the dance numbers ,and above all it is a memorable film  .This film falls under the theme movement because it is of course always moving especially in the dance numbers and even because of some of the costumes like the one baby had in the last scene .

In the opening part the film the director uses medium close ups to show the intimacy of the dancers. The camera focuses on the characters by using extreme close-ups so the audience can see their facial expressions. The camera movement is very steady. The music is very good and so is the sound .They used great music to show the intense bits and also what for me represents the free spirited parts of the movie
The costume design, hair and make up are all  represent the period that the film is set in, which is the 1960’s.
