Film

Film movement :
Dirty Dancing
In 1963, "Baby" Houseman  who is played by Jennifer Grey is as a 17-year-old spending the summer with her family at a resort hotel in the Catskills; she plans on being in the Peace Corps next summer, so this is expected to be her last summer as a carefree adolescent.  However, one night Baby hears what sounds like a party going on in the employee's dormitory, Baby is really liking a handsome young man ,Johnny Castle who is played by Patrick Swayze, a dancer in the resorts floor show, and falls head over heels in love, wanting to be near him.

When Johnny's dance partner, Penny Cynthia Rhodes, finds herself pregnant ,Baby volunteers to learn her steps and take her place  however, Baby's father, Dr. Jake Houseman who is  Jerry Orbach, will have none of it, convinced that Johnny is a low life and that his daughter is too young to understand her own feelings. But in the end they still do the last show and surprise everyone with the finally everyone gets up and has fun,and her father finally except their love and excepts that baby is growing up.

It is a great movie because it has romance ,heart break it is very fun and up beat most of the time especially in the dance numbers ,and above all it is a memorable film  .This film falls under the theme movement because it is of course always moving especially in the dance numbers and even because of some of the costumes like the one baby had in the last scene .

In the opening part the film the director uses medium close ups to show the intimacy of the dancers. The camera focuses on the characters by using extreme close-ups so the audience can see their facial expressions. The camera movement is very steady. The music is very good and so is the sound .They used great music to show the intense bits and also what for me represents the free spirited parts of the movie
The costume design, hair and make up are all  represent the period that the film is set in, which is the 1960’s.

FILM

                                         Film ,movement:
                                         3 men and a baby

"Three Men and a Baby is an American remake of the 1985 French comedy  Three Men and a Cradle. It begins with alot of characters and it spends a lot of time describing the lifestyles of three bachelors Tom sellek , steve Guttinberg and Ted Danston  who share a luxury apartment and have a never ending line of girlfriends. And then it's the morning after Selleck's big birthday party and on the doorstep outside their apartment is a basinette with a little baby named Mary. From that point on, the movie finds its rhythm, and it works.
The baby  father was Danson, an actor who has just left to shoot a film in Turkey. Selleck and Guttenberg are left with the baby.
Shortly after comes one of the funiest scenes , as Selleck and Guttenberg, an architect and a cartoonist, try to change Mary's diapers.  The way they act  it is  so funny.
At first they're confused  by this little baby that only eats, sleeps, cries and  ...,and sellek says "The book says to feed the baby every two hours," says Selleck, "but do you count from when you start, or when you finish? It takes me two hours to get her to eat, and by the time she's done it's time to start again, so that I'm feeding her all of the time."Those scenes are the heart of the movie.

At the end, when Marys mother turns up, the men allow her to leave with the baby without even asking the obvious question  of how could she have abandoned the baby .But soon follow her and ask her to live with them.I love this movie because it's funny but still heart warming and it is a good movie to watch.

This movie falls under the theme movement because it never stops. The critical analysis is that the camera is steady ,there are a few close ups at moments and mostly long shots. So as far as sound and picture goes it is not so bad considering how old the film actually is .As you can  see I like the plot could have been done better in certain places but over all I like it .Lighting ,it is most of the time really light as its a comedy and doesn't have very intense scenes, except for the parts when they go after the baby because of the misunderstanding, and the part when they go to the airport for the mother.Lighting as well as sound change at that moment to get your Adrenalin pumping and make you think about will they get to them in time .All the music during the film is mostly up beat. The props the use are great costumes well i guess there not costume just that ages fashion, are good. The actors they chose to play the leads were great for this part I cant imagine any one else who can play the part like they did as they made the film come alive and be believable or at least believable to me .
